Product Description

You know the situation: your system is perfectly set up and carefully equalized. You've done everything possible to avoid problems. Then it happens: a mic too close to a speaker... ear-splitting feedback. Switch on a DSP1100P and you'll hear the difference immediately. Within fractions of a second, the FEEDBACK DESTROYER PRO's ingenious search algorithm locates feedback frequencies and sets extremely narrow, 1/60-octave filters, leaving the desired signal virtually untouched. The result: a rich, full sound without feedback. And without headaches.

No more feedback: two ways to skin the cat

The DSP1100P offers two methods of feedback suppression. In the "Single-Shot" mode, the filters are set once and remain active at their respective frequencies until manually reset. This mode is best used for equalizing PA systems and for stationary microphones. In the "Auto" mode, current feedback frequencies are assigned to up to 12 filters, which are automatically re-assigned when necessary. This is the best way to handle mic?s in motion. In both modes, the DSP1100P continuously monitors the mix, varying the filter bandwidth and/or attenuation as necessary. Can you name another unit that offers this kind of flexible adaptation of filter width and depth?

Device in device: the fully parametric 24-band EQ

In the manual mode, the DSP1100P becomes a great-sounding fully parametric EQ with 24 filters, each of them covering a wide spectrum of common EQ applications. Subtle or extreme equalization (up to 48 dB of attenu-ation), acoustic correction or sound design: you name it, the DSP1100P can do it. The free Windows® editor allows you to control all filters in real time, putting an unusually powerful MIDI filter bank at your fingertips. Actually, the EQ in itself is reason enough to add this unit to your outboard arsenal ? for studio or live applications.

Filters ą la carte: freely selectable filter modes

Unbelievable, but true: each of the DSP1100P's filters can operate in a different mode. You can use some of the filters to suppress feedback and others as equalizers. It's like having several units in one!

Everything under control

Next to the 8-segment level meter and the status LED's for all filters, you?ll find a 7-segment numerical display on the front panel. Along with the jog wheel, this is your interface for filter type, frequency, bandwidth and equalization adjustments. Every single function ? including the practical EQ bypass mode ? is right there at your fingertips and in plain sight. Needless to say, all functions can also be remote-controlled via MIDI. Ergonomics is the key.
